Sidamo coffees are grown in the province of Sidamo in the Ethiopian highlands at elevations from 1600 to 2100 masl. The region is well known for having an ideal climate conditions, rich soil, ample rainfall, and optimal temperature for growing coffee.
Walia Ibex are a type of goat that live 2500-4500m up the steep cliffs of the Ethiopian highlands. According to legend, Goat and coffee have a long time historical relationship. The Origin of Coffee: Kaldi and the Dancing Goats. The story goes that a 9th century goat herder named Kaldi noticed their stimulating effects on his goats and began experimenting. This fascinating story inspired us to use Walia Ibex as one of our coffee trademarks.
